Experience the Magic!!! Be a Volunteer.

 

 

If your decision to become a mentor has been delayed because you’re just not sure if you can do it, let us offer this suggestion to you. Talk to some of our past or present volunteers. Ask them what they think about their experience with our staff. Ask them about their relationships with their “Littles.” After all, what better opinion can you get than that of someone who is on the front lines of this organization. 

We understand that apprehensions are normal. So, we not only encourage you to explore our agency, we are willing to assist you with your research. 

If you don’t know anyone locally in the BBBS Midland program, give us a call. We'll be glad to set up a meeting with one or two of our “Bigs” who are  willing to share their stories.

Finally, we invite your questions about our agency. It’s the best way for us to dispel myths and get the facts to you.

Become a Big Brother/Sister

None of our volunteers are superheroes, but you might think they were if you heard the kids talk.  Becoming a Big Brother or Sister gives regular people the chance to influence the life of a child, simply by being there.  Best of all, we "match" you with a child who shares some of your interests, so you get to have fun, too!  We even have a discount card (coming in July) and coupons that makes activities more affordable.  If you've got about an hour a week and are ready to start the screening process, call our office and we'll set up an appointment for you to get started.

 

Bowl For Kids’ Sake (BFKS)

If you enjoy organizing events or simply having a good time with your friends and neighbors, you will love working with BFKS. You don’t have to be a bowler; this is not a bowling tournament, but rather a bowling party! Help us develop community support for the children in Midland, in the process, meet community leaders and make new friends. The day of the event offers many opportunities to share a great time with great people! If you are interested in volunteering for this event, contact us.

 

Golf Fore Kids’ Sake (GFKS)

You don’t have to be Tiger Woods, but if you know golf and want to share your expertise in helping to plan our annual tournament, we have a place for you in GFKS. Recruitment, PR, and various event operations on the day of the tournament provide many great options for volunteer participation. Board of Directors/Board Committees

A volunteer Board of Directors governs Big Brothers Big Sisters of Midland. We are continually looking for Board prospects, with expertise in a variety of fields, to fill upcoming openings.
