The 7th annual National Mentoring Month will be observed in January 2008. It provides Big Brothers Big Sisters a wonderful opportunity, as the largest mentoring organization in the country, to attract attention to the value of mentoring, recruit mentors and generate contributions. This year, we are using National Mentoring Month as the launch pad of our 2008 Campaign for Men and announcing Big Brothers Big Sisters as The Resolution You’ll Want to Keep!

Big Brothers Big Sisters is a lead partner in National Mentoring Month, which is spearheaded by the Harvard Mentoring Project of the Harvard School of Public Health, MENTOR/National Mentoring Partnership, and the Corporation for National and Community Service.

Support BBBS by Giving a Cow a Day Off!

 

 

January 7, 2008 has been declared the “Cows’ Day Off.” From December 20 - January 31, consumers are encouraged to go to www.cowsdayoff.com in a promotion sponsored by Ronzoni Smart Taste pasta, to give a cow a day of rest. By signing up and selecting a cow to have the day off, they will be supporting the Ronzoni donation to BBBSA. The company is donating $10,000 to support the BBBS agencies.

 

 

 

 

Google Maps now enables users to create custom maps with labels and location identifiers.  Big Brothers Big Sisters will be using this tool to post maps to agency events.  These will be particularly helpful if you are new to the agency or have not participated in events before.  Look for these maps in the Calendar section soon!

 

 

Discount/Volunteer cards are coming soon.  Expect to receive information within the month!  These cards will be the size of a credit card and will have the names of businesses where you receive huge discounts when you're out with your Little.
